📖 How to use Zam
📤 Sending Files & Folders
- Select any file(s) or toggle 📁 Folder to select an entire directory.
- Set a Secret Key. You will need to securely share this password with your recipient.
- Click Upload. Zam will automatically compress and encrypt everything into a secure short-link.
📥 Receiving Files
- Click the shared link (or paste the ID into the Receive tab).
- Enter the exact Secret Key provided by the sender.
- Click Download to decrypt and save the archive to your device.
💡 Clever Ways to Use Zam
- The Secure Dead Drop: Need to share a sensitive audio clip or document anonymously? Zam leaves no server logs, requires no accounts, and mathematically blinds the server to your data.
- The DevOps Secret Handshake: Stop pasting `.env` files, SSH keys, or database credentials into Slack or Discord where they live forever. Zam them instead.
- The Untrusted Printer: You are at a hotel business center and need to print a PDF. Do not type your Gmail password into a public computer. Zam it from your phone and open the short-link.
✨ Why this is amazing
Zam isn't just another file host; it's a Zero-Knowledge 2-Day Buffer. Using military-grade AES-256-GCM encryption, your files are completely encrypted inside your browser before they ever touch the internet.
The server never sees your actual file, and it never knows your password. Even if the server were compromised, your data is mathematically unreadable. Plus, to ensure total privacy, all files remain in the system for exactly 2 days (48 hours) before they automatically self-destruct. Pure privacy, zero digital footprint.
Disclaimer:
I do not control/dictate how/what this application is used for. It's just a side project of mine as a student, in response to no current options for safe file transfer from one system to another. I hate logging into apps like WhatsApp or entering any personal info in some public PC. Zam enables me to transfer files safely from any PC to myself.
Any misuse will not be my responsibility and I urge the audience to use it wisely.
Peace!
